As a direct consequence of the UK’s exit from the EU and the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020, Gibraltar has had to reorganise the way it receives animal products from the UK to comply with the new rules.
More specifically, animal products in transit from the UK to Gibraltar must enter the EU through a Border Inspection Post (BIP) usually in France and then exit through the closest BIP to Gibraltar, in this case in Algeciras.
The goods will then transit on a ferry across the bay to Gibraltar.
In order to enable our clients to cope with this new general transit procedure for animal products, we offer our clients the management of a daily departure from the Port of Algeciras for trucks arriving at the Port of Gibraltar.
